Years go by, we change the directives but the result is always the same. Recent political actions on plastic packaging, at European and national level, have established further new schemes for the prevention of consumption and consequent waste.
This is in line with the European policies of recent years against the excessive use of plastic which, while on the one hand it can also be corrected, on the other hand leaves us in jeopardy once again.
What we want to focus on today, as argued during the last briefing of the European environment agency, concerns the observation that "currently there are no direct recycling or reuse targets for non-packaging plastics which, according to recent estimates, can represent up to 74% of total EU plastic consumption”.
If so much in recent years we have focused on replacing plastic with other materials, on the other hand the world in which we operate with the utmost respect for the environment around us is once again "criticized" and left to itself.
It is therefore very important that the European Union and all member states develop a more standardized methodology for non-packaging plastic flows, which include materials produced for buildings, vehicles, everyday objects such as those for electronics, sports equipment, diapers and much more.
Again Temakrom wants to be the spokesperson for this aspect, which will have direct impacts on our production chain. We don't put up walls, we are open to discussion and dialogue, but we ask for clear objectives.
